President Obama's numbers are lowest among white males. Unfortunately, an agressive attack from our President, whether he "won" or not, will not attract that demographic. The President is clearly the more knowledgeable, intelligent, compassionate, choice, but he continues walk a fine line so that his presence doesn't offend.
What basis do you have for saying Obama is more knowledgeable and intelligent than Romney? The problem with our electoral system is no one actually votes for what they believe. Most voters are uneducated on the facts of the election, people just vote for someone because of their party lines, gender, race, religious belief. All are terrible reason to elect someone to office. And again, how is Obama more compassionate? And does that really matter when you are picking someone to make decisions for an entire nation?
I'm not a fan of Romney's position on a Women's right to chose. I think his position shows less compassion for women not ready, financially or otherwise, to take on the enormous responsibilities of motherhood, often alone. And yes, I would argue compassion does matter in a leader. A leader must look after even the little guy.
Mitt Romney clearly won! Obama is still promising to cut debt, but continues to raise the debt. He is accusing Romney of trickle down economics...I felt like he forgot he is not debating Bush today!!
He started with a lot of debt. There was no way to get out of the position we were in without sinking further into debt. Think about the wars alone. We couldn't just drop guns and walk out.... Of course the debt increased. 4 years is not a lot of time.
4 years is not a lot of time to do anything one way or another, espeically when there are BIG changes that need to be made. People expect too much progress in too short a time
Unfortunately, the fact that Romney won has nothing to do with his politics and everything to do with his energy and facial expressions...like Brian Williams said, the debate is first and foremost a television show.
Oh, and the PBS moderator was WAY too nice. He needs a big buzzer next time to shut them up!!
The moderator definitely lost control
I was surprised it was only about the economy but it makes sense. I wonder if they will avoid that section in debate 2
Last night it was supposed to be all about domestic issues; the next one I believe will focus on foreign policy. Not sure about the third - probably back to the economy.
